Robert Napier School, Gillingham

The construction of the Robert Napier School's new Sixth Form Centre employed a steel frame and pre-case plank flooring. This job commenced in the snows of 2009, and achieved practical completion on time during the snows of 2010.

The challenging in-fill site required 'keyhole' style execution, with difficult access issues resolved in consultation with the school. The environmental impact of the new build was a key concern, and as such a full intelligent lighting system, and the Daikin VRF heating and comfort cooling system, were installed to ensure efficient energy use.

Unique spaces provided include a large performance area, a Sixth Form breakout room and IT suites, as well as a facility for visually-impaired students. The client and building users were delighted with the finished product. Having enjoyed working with the professional and school team, we are pleased to be already working with them on other projects.
